The Atlanta Braves Trainee Program is designed for applicants who are interested in beginning a career in professional sports. Each year the program hires individuals from around the nation with diverse backgrounds, who are ambitious, intelligent and creative, to work in a department from January to November. This opportunity provides valuable experience in the day-to-day operations of a professional sports franchise. It not only gives the opportunity to work in a Front Office environment but also to build a network with those in the sports industry who can provide expert advice and possible connections for job opportunities upon completion of the program.

The Trainee Program is open to any qualified applicant who has a Bachelors or Master's degree. Trainees are expected to work at least 37.5 hours per week and may have additional game day responsibilities (depending on department assignments). The individuals who participate in this program are paid $9.50/hour, plus overtime if applicable, as well as are benefit-eligible after 60 days (medical, dental, vision).

Interested, qualified candidates may apply at from October 1st to October 15th each year. 

General requirements for all Trainee positions

  • College graduate, Bachelors or Masters
  • Excellent written, verbal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Customer service-oriented
  • Excellent executive presence
  • Ability to work long hours, weekends and holidays
  • Must complete a successful background check

 Position description includes but is not limited to:

  • Assist in development of direct marketing campaigns utilizing Microsoft Dynamics CRM
  • Organize and populate the daily, weekly, and monthly analytics reporting on our CRM activities
  • Assisting with the creation of quantitative forecasts aimed at aiding business leaders to create or adjust strategies
  • Performing statistical analysis on complex data sets
  • Configuring,  implementing, and maintaining components of a Microsoft SharePoint site
  • Translating business needs into queries to create lists
  • All other duties as assigned

In addition to the general requirements, the ideal candidate will possess:

  • Degree in MIS, CIS, CS, Engineering, other quantitative fields, or an MBA preferred but not required
  • Good SQL skills and a solid understanding of how databases are constructed and function is a requirement of this position
  • Basic knowledge of statistics and statistical terminology
  • Some programming experience is highly preferred
  • A robust skill-set, including exceptional oral, written, and visual communication skills
  • A highly organized self-starter and logical thinker
  • Basic knowledge of the R programming language or a similar statistical analysis suite
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays
  • Must successfully complete a criminal and credit background check
