The Atlanta Braves Trainee Program is designed for applicants who are interested in beginning a career in professional sports. Each year the program hires individuals from around the nation with diverse backgrounds, who are ambitious, intelligent and creative, to work in a department from January to November. This opportunity provides valuable experience in the day-to-day operations of a professional sports franchise. It not only gives the opportunity to work in a Front Office environment but also to build a network with those in the sports industry who can provide expert advice and possible connections for job opportunities upon completion of the program.

The Trainee Program is open to any qualified applicant who has a Bachelors or Master's degree. Trainees are expected to work at least 37.5 hours per week and may have additional game day responsibilities (depending on department assignments). The individuals who participate in this program are paid $9.50/hour, plus overtime if applicable, as well as are benefit-eligible after 60 days (medical, dental, vision).

Interested, qualified candidates may apply at from October 1st to October 15th each year. 

General requirements for all Trainee positions

  • College graduate, Bachelors or Masters
  • Excellent written, verbal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Customer service-oriented
  • Excellent executive presence
  • Ability to work long hours, weekends and holidays
  • Must complete a successful background check

 Position description includes but is not limited to:

  • Actively participate in weekly marketing meetings and brainstorming sessions related to proposed marketing projects
  • Assist in gameday operations with Marketing, Promotions, and Operations
  • Manage logistics for all Braves in-market experiential activities in addition to managing ambassador team responsible for interacting with fans
  • Manage Atlanta Braves Kids Club program
  • Assist the team in general market media trafficking and tracking
  • Manage media trade relationships including responding to media ticket requests, fulfilling requests, budget tracking, etc.
  • Write and distribute promotional talking points to radio affiliates
  • Assist in endemic marketing efforts (eg: parents, entertainment seekers/concert goers, multi-cultural)
  • Assist Entertainment Manager with Alumni Sundays
  • Engage in inter-departmental project management as needs dictate
  • Conduct research for various department projects
  • Drive to B.A.T. Team events in the company truck or SUV; valid driver's license required
  • Willingness to assist in Marketing & Digital needs that may arise beyond the responsibilities listed
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends

 In addition to the general requirements, the ideal candidate will possess:

  • College degree with an emphasis on Business, Marketing and/or Sports Management
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, think creatively and problem solve
  • Must possess natural curiosity and ambition to aid in moving the business forward
  • Must be detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be a team-first player who works well with others
  • Should have strong organizational skills
  • Ability to use Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must complete a successful background check
