Position Overview:   The Atlanta Braves are seeking a Director of Event Sales to establish and implement a year-round event sales strategy while leading and motivating a sales team to grow non-game event revenue at SunTrust Park.

Major Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Establish and implement a year-round event sales strategy for SunTrust Park non-game events
  • Lead and motivate an event sales team, creating a challenging but fun work environment
  • Set clear sales goals and KPI's while leveraging CRM system to track sales activity and progress
  • Direct selling of SunTrust Park events based on newly established event sales strategy
  • Strategically identify new event opportunities as well as advantageous partnership and referral opportunities
  • Directly oversee and manage departmental budget
  • Work closely with Legal team to ensure accurate and timely contract process
  • Work closely with Event Operations to ensure smooth processes throughout lifecycle of event
  • Support the Executive team with contract terms and negotiation of large-scale events
  • Work closely with the Battery Atlanta to maximize revenue and ensure seamless client experience for campus-wide events
  • Leverage industry contacts and community relationships to promote and grow event business
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills:

  • BA or MS degree in Hospitality, Marketing and/or Business Administration preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in event sales management with proven success in setting, meeting and exceeding sales goals
  • 10+ years of experience in hospitality and/or event sales
  • Experience designing and implementing a successful sales strategy with proven financial results
  • Ability to effectively lead a sales team
  • Strong prospecting and closing skills
  • Outgoing personality and positive attitude with track record of effective communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal)
  • Organized, detail-oriented person who can prioritize workload and follow through with minimal supervision while exhibiting a service-oriented approach
  • A proven ability to work effectively and relate well with individuals of diverse backgrounds and at all levels of the company
  • Must be a team player, who cares about the department's work and reputation
  • Ability to anticipate client needs and proactively find solutions
  • Comfortable presenting information to high-level executives and large groups
  • Self-motivated with high degree of responsibility including confidentiality, sense of urgency, and accountability
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM system used for tracking sales activity and progress
  • Ability to work long hours, weekends and holidays
